Saturday, May 25, 2019, 2 p.m. till 11 p.m.
Sunday, May 26, 2019, 2 p.m. till 11 p.m.
Venue: Kreativquartier

Kreativquartier on Dachauer Strasse is a very special location in Munich. The five-hectare area on the grounds of the former Luitpold Barracks offers something that the Bavarian capital rarely doesn't have anymore: room and space for art and creativity. And at the best location in the city, situated between the quarters of Maxvorstadt, Neuhausen, and Schwabing. Kreativquartier is an urban experimental laboratory. It is changing drastically. It's still not clear yet how it will develop, which buildings will be closed and which will stay open, how and where the numerous initiatives at the site will be moved to.

The last weekend of DANCE 2019 will take place for the most part at Kreativquartier, with the people who have been working there for years or decades and with guests who will create works especially for this location.

Entitled "Ring my Bell," existing artistic and socio-cultural projects at Kreativquartier will open their doors as an accompaniment to the two world premieres "Delta" by Yang Zhen and "BetweenTheDotsBeta" by Peter Trosztmer and Zack Settel. Sounds will come from the drainage system through the sound installation "Kanalkonzert"(Following an idea of Dieter Buroch who realizeed a similar concept at the Kultursommer Runkel). The Cosmic Giggle will perform. Electronic music instruments, several turntables, two vocal looping devices, cassette recorder, and synthesizer will be arranged on the ground and be played by artists and alternating guest gigglers at the same time and improvised live.

At Import Export DANCE 2019 will extend an invitation to "Commons." Impulse lectures and discussions will deal with questions such as these: In the future, in which cities will we want to live, and how do we want to live there? What dynamics are we exposed to? What kind of participation in social life do we desire and need? And what kind of communication and co-existence possibilities do we desire and need? It has to do with an examination of urbanity in the 21st century.

A series of events with dance, performances, discussions, and a participative club night!
