Sacharoff's Vermächtnis

An interdisciplinary exhibition project about queerness and genderfluidity in dance

The photo project deals with the Ukrainian genderfluid dancer and artist Alexander Sacharoff, who is considered a pioneer of modern dance. Photographer Francesco Giordano portrays Munich dragkings and -queens and creates a contemporary reinterpretation of Sacharoff's dance expression with his photos. Photographer Leoni Marie Hübner portrays voguing dancer Santi Revlon and develops a choreographic score based on the dance photography and together with Santi Revlon.

The exhibition is on view May 12-19 at Habibi Kiosk. At the opening on May 12, two of the portrayed drag artists and the voguer will perform at Habibi Kiosk. On May 13, Leoni Marie Hübner and Francesco Giordano will talk with dance historian Thomas Betz about their photographic work and their engagement with Alexander Sacharoff.
