Moritz Ostruschnjak - Cardboard Sessions (Open rehearsal)
Cardboard Sessions (Open rehearsal)
A group of dancers from different generations and urban dance styles takes over the spaces of Pinakothek der Moderne – invasively, spontaneously, unstoppably. Stairs become platforms, hallways turn into playgrounds, and rooms transform into stages.
Once, people danced on cardboard boxes in the streets of New York. Now, dancers bring this relic of the streets into the museum.
Is this art? A training session? Or just a jam session where everyone hangs out and exchanges ideas? Maybe it’s all of that – or simply a space where art and subculture collide, blend, and create something new. And when everything finally comes together in the rotunda of the Pinakothek, we dance – all of us, together.
On the closing weekend of the festival, Munich-based choreographer Moritz Ostruschnjak invites everybody to an open rehearsal of CARDBOARD SESSIONS — an open space for performers and audience alike, to come and go, hang out, and watch. A jam where boundaries blur, art and everyday life become one. CARDBOARD SESSIONS is not a performance. It is a state of being, a collective, an invasion of the moment.
Meet the Artists with Moritz Ostruschnjak, Serhat ‘Said’ Perhat and Dhélé Agbetou on 31 May, 11 am, Blitz.
