Ewa Dziarnowska
This resting, patience

Ewa Dziarnowska's remarkable choreographic work brings performers and audience together in an intensely shared experience. This sensual durational performance unfolds as an ambivalent interplay of closeness and distance, objectification and freedom, where time seems to stand still. Somewhere between an installation, a slowed-down ritual, and a body archive, This resting, patience explores desire, intimacy, attraction, as well as loneliness and alienation. Audience members are invited to stay for as long as they wish.
Berlin-based dancer and choreographer Ewa Dziarnowska counters conventional theatrical notions of meaning and dramaturgical linearity. Interested in improvisation and embodied knowledge, she explores the poetic and sensory dimensions of dance, making it tangible in the tension between pleasure and pain, beyond spectacle and alienation. With This resting, patience, celebrated internationally since its premiere at the 33rd Berlin Tanztage in 2024, DANCE presents a powerful and moving durational performance that evokes the feeling of "seeing dance for the very first time."
