The International DANCE Festival Munich has been held as a biennial event in Munich since 1987. Starting in 2025, the festival will take a more inclusive approach, reaching a broad audience and involving all parts of Munich’s urban society.
Accessible Web Design
The website is being developed according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure optimal accessibility. It includes features that accommodate people with different needs, such as screen reader compatibility, sufficient color contrast, and simple navigation. Additionally, texts are structured in an accessible and clear manner to guarantee easy comprehension for all users.
Focused Reading
"Focused Reading" is a reading method designed to make reading more efficient and enjoyable by highlighting specific parts of words. Typically, the first letters or syllables of a word are bolded while the rest remains normal. The idea behind this is that our brain often only needs fragments of a word to recognize and understand it.
We plan to implement this technique on our new website as a feature that can be turned on and off with a click.
"Focused Reading" enhances reading speed by helping the brain process text more quickly, as less time is needed to decode each word. The visual emphasis on text parts also improves concentration, especially for longer texts, and helps users maintain focus. This method supports reading fluency by minimizing distractions and making it easier to navigate dense or complex texts. It can be particularly helpful for individuals with reading difficulties, such as dyslexia or other reading disorders.
