Highlights for the Final Weekend

DANCE enters its final weekend and draws once again from the full with numerous performances.

Czech choreographer Věra Ondrašíková's piece Witness completes this year's festival focus on Eastern Europe. An impressive poetic work that negotiates the global climate crisis and the relationship between humans and nature. It features powerful images, of trees in a sea of laser light, but also the quiet magic of a crackling luminous forest at night. Remaining tickets are available for Saturday 5pm and Sunday 4pm performances at schwere reiter.

Closing both days is the homage An Evening with Raimund at Muffathalle: an encounter with one of the most important German choreographers, Raimund Hoghe, who died so suddenly and unexpectedly during the DANCE Festival in 2021. Put together by Hoghe's longtime artistic collaborators Luca Giacomo Schulte and Emmanuel Eggermont, the performance features excerpts from Hoghe's works and thrives on the renowned artist's intertextual approach, without simply "replaying" his pieces - thus creating an independent work of art by important soloists and choreographers. There are still remaining tickets for the performances on Saturday at 9pm and Sunday at 8pm
